The genetics of gut bugs: DNA-based IBS test tags the bowel microbiome

Norwegian molecular diagnostics company Genetic Analysis is planning to bring its first CE-marked kit for diseases related to gut imbalances, GA-map IBS, to market in third quarter 2013. GA-map IBS is designed to differentiate people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) from patients with other gut disorders, including other forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
