ArchyFantasies
An active Archaeologist myself, I've gotten a bit tired of the use of bad science and archaeology to defend and "prove" made up claims. In this vein my blog should help others who are not familiar with how archaeology actually works to understand the truth and see through the misleading lies of others

I am a PhD student at the university of Zürich, Switzerland. Next to this I am involved in some other small research and field projects. My research concerns the Mesolithic – Neolithic transition in (Pre-)Alpine Central Europe. It is based on microscopic use-wear analyses of Late Mesolithic chipped stone artefacts from the site Arconciel/La Souche, Switzerland and Lutter/St. Joseph, France. I mostly write about this project here, but also about other bits of archaeology, more or less related to the PhD and my other archaeological and scientific interests and involvements, especially alpine archaeology.

The purpose of this blog is to bring together the various strands that compromise my professional activities and interests. I post here when I can and focus on three main areas: * my research and teaching interests, which mostly concern pre- and post-contact Indigenous archaeology and cultural heritage management (CHM); * new research, conferences and publications that have some relevance to those interested in archaeology and CHM in Australia; * new tools, software applications, websites and methods that have some relevance to doing archaeology or CHM.
